Bungoma County Governor Hon. Kenneth Makelo Lusaka has formed a five-member sub-committee to streamline the education sector in the County.

Speaking to journalists after inspecting a 100-bed capacity maternity wing at the Bumula Sub-County Hospital, Governor Lusaka disclosed that his office through the sub-committee intended to do an audit query of  the exact number of beneficiary students receiving capitation through the Bungoma County Scholarship Program and the County’s bursary kitty.

According to him, this will assist in prudently managing the allocated tuition fees to beneficiary students from across the forty five wards.

Mr. Lusaka noted that this will give an overview of the estimated budget required to pay school fees for the learners.

The Governor reiterated that formation of the sub-committee was not a witchhunt but was for assurance of proper service delivery to the residents .

The Committee is expected to give a report in two weeks.
