- PS John Ololtuaa has launched new classrooms at Hema Chitago Senior and Comprehensive Schools, reaffirming the government’s commitment to expanding school infrastructure nationwide.
- MP Daniel Manduku’s NG-CDF office has invested over Ksh 20 million to construct modern, storied classrooms designed to support the Competency-Based Curriculum.
- Area leaders have called for continued accountability in NG-CDF allocation, with PS Olotuaa urging other constituencies to replicate Nyaribari Masaba’s investment in education infrastructure.
The government is prioritising the expansion of school infrastructure nationwide to ease congestion in classrooms and other learning facilities, Principal Secretary for Basic Education John Ololtuaa has said.
Speaking during the launch of new classrooms at Hema Chitago Senior and Comprehensive Schools in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency, PS Ololtuaa said quality learning can only take place in a conducive environment, adding that the Ministry is prioritising classrooms, laboratories, libraries and ICT hubs to reduce congestion and improve learning outcomes across the country.
The new facilities at Hema Chitago were funded through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), with the local MP’s office channelling more than Ksh 20 million into the construction of modern, storied classrooms. Area MP Dr Daniel Manduku said the new structures include spacious classrooms, offices for teachers and washrooms, all designed to accommodate the Competency Based Curriculum and support learners transitioning into junior and senior school.
PS Ololtuaa commended Dr Manduku for the prudent use of NG-CDF funds in supporting education projects within the constituency. “When leaders use NG-CDF well, you see the results in classrooms like these. This is what transforms the future of our children,” he said.

Dr Manduku, in turn, described education as the ultimate equaliser, saying his office had made a deliberate decision to invest heavily in the sector. “We decided to invest heavily in education because that is the only equaliser. These storied classrooms will serve learners for generations,” he said, thanking PS Olotuaa for honouring the invitation to officially launch the new classrooms.
The event also drew Bomachoge Chache MP Alfa Miruka and Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheel Jahndah, both of whom underscored the role of NG-CDF in bridging infrastructure gaps in schools within their respective constituencies.
MP Miruka described NG-CDF as the most direct way through which communities experience government development, noting that many schools would otherwise still be learning under trees or in dilapidated structures without it.

MP Jahndah called for greater accountability among MPs in how they allocate the funds, describing education as the foundation for the country’s future workforce. “Education is the foundation. When we put money in classrooms, we are investing in doctors, engineers, and leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
Teachers, parents and students at the school welcomed the new classrooms, saying the additional space would ease congestion and create a better learning environment. School management noted that the expanded facilities would also allow the institution to admit more learners in line with the government’s policy on 100 per cent transition.
PS Olotuaa urged other constituencies to emulate Nyaribari Masaba’s example in prioritising education projects, and assured that the Ministry would continue partnering with NG-CDF offices countrywide to ensure every Kenyan child learns in dignity.
