Residents of Chamasiri sub location in Teso North, Busia county are still in shock following the death by suicide of a form two student at Moding Secondary School.

Alpha Barasa hung himself using a rope inside their family house after returning home from school last evening.

Neighbours and local administrators led by Moding location chief Gilbert Odera said the deceased has a session with his brother and teachers who advised him over his poor performance.

“They were worried about his performance which had been dropping and asked him to change his behavior which may be contributing to the drop,” Odera said, noting that Barasa sent his cousin to the shop to buy him a ball before hanging himself shortly afterwards.

His body was taken to Kocholia Hospital Mortuary and the police have launched investigations into the incident.
