Okela Mixed Secondary School in Rarieda joins the list of schools that have witnessed cases of arson in the recent after fire broke out on Sunday at around 8:30 pm at the dormitory which hosts 20 students destroying property worth thousands of shillings.
According to Esau Oduru, the Assistant Chief of West Katweng’a sub-location, a student who had gone to the toilet is the one who noticed that the dormitory was on fire and sounded the alarm alerting school staff and other students who were in class for evening study.
Their battle with the raging inferno was successful hoverer did not salvage any of their belongings.
