Two children – a boy and a girl aged 2 and 7 respectively – have been allegedly murdered by their mother at Maasai Lodge area in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County after a domestic fight with her husband on Wednesday night.
The woman later stabbed her husband leaving him severely injured before attempting to kill herself.
She was however rushed to Sinai Hospital and later transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) where she is currently fighting for her life under intensive care.
Neighbors said the bodies were discovered on the morning of June 8 after realizing the door had not been locked from inside.
Confirming the incident, area Police Commander Hussein Gura said the bodies of the two children were removed to the mortuary.
He urged families to find amicable ways of solving disputes instead of murdering each other.
Authorities have launched investigations into the incident to uncover the reason behind the tragedy.
