Wareng High School boys’ football team produced a brilliant and disciplined performance to be crowned champions of the Arnesens Open Tournament, played over the weekend at Arnesens High School sports ground in Uasin Gishu County.
The champions began their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over KMTC Burnt Forest, setting the tone for a strong run.
They maintained momentum in their second fixture, edging Rurigi 1-0 to comfortably seal qualification into the knockout stages.

In the quarter-finals, Wareng High turned on the style with a dominant 4-1 win over hosts Arnesens, showcasing their attacking quality and confidence.
The semi-final saw another composed display as they beat Kipkabos 2-0 to secure a place in the final.
The final against Arnesens Boys was a tense and tactical battle, with both sides cancelling each other out in regular time to end 0-0.
The championship was ultimately decided by penalties, where Wareng High kept their nerve to win 3-0 and seal the title.
An unbeaten tournament run, crowned by a dramatic shootout victory, underlined their resilience, teamwork, and mental strength as they head into the Term Two competitions.

Wareng High now return home to Uasin Gishu County as deserved champions, celebrating a memorable triumph that highlights their growing dominance in school football.
