Butere Member of Parliament (MP) Tindi Mwale has commissioned a storey tuition block hosting eight classrooms at Imanga Senior School, marking the 21st such building constructed under his tenure.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mwale said the project is part of a broader infrastructure drive aimed at improving academic performance in Butere Sub-County.
He assured education stakeholders that his office will provide furniture to equip the new classrooms.
Mwale disclosed that Ituti Senior School, Bulanda and Shinamwenyuli, which produced the best candidate in last year’s KCSE, have already benefited from similar storey buildings under the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
He added that 11 school buses have been purchased during his time in office, noting that Shikanga Mixed Senior School will soon receive a new bus.
“This is not the only project constructed by NG-CDF. There are also new school bus projects, bearing in mind that students have expressed concerns about the commissioning of the buses,” Mwale said.

Imanga Senior School Principal Benson Were, who was deployed to the institution in 2016, said he found the administration block and classrooms in a dilapidated state.
Were expressed gratitude, saying the school has been transformed through the support of stakeholders, including the political leadership, especially the area MP.
He said the new building will ease congestion and improve the learning environment, while urging students to work hard to give back to their sponsors.
