Tenwek High School to host celebration to honour fans who stood by the school’s teams during the recently concluded Bomet county secondary school Term Two games.

The event follows a historic performance by the school’s football team, which stunned defending county champions Kaplong Boys High School with a hard-fought 1-0 victory in the final played at Silibwet stadium last week.
Tenwek High School is today expected to host hundreds of supporters in a special celebration to honour fans who stood by the school’s teams during the recently concluded Bomet county secondary school Term Two games.
According to sources at the school, the administration has organized a thanksgiving and appreciation event, including the slaughtering of bulls, to recognize the unwavering support shown by fans throughout the tournament.
The celebrations follow a historic performance by the school’s football team, which stunned defending county champions Kaplong Boys High School with a hard-fought 1-0 victory in the final played at Silibwet stadium last week.
The victory sparked wild celebrations among supporters, who escorted the triumphant team from Silibwet Town to Tenwek High School in a jubilant procession. Along the route, fans sang, danced and cheered the players, turning the journey into a memorable celebration of sporting success.

Upon arrival at the school, students and staff were waiting to welcome the new county champions. The atmosphere was electric as the school community joined in celebrating the achievement.
Tenwek High School’s success was not limited to football. The school also excelled in basketball, reclaiming the county title after dethroning defending champions Kimulot Boys High School.
In a tightly contested final, Tenwek secured a 12-7 victory to end Kimulot’s reign and emerge as the new county basketball champions.
“We knew we were facing a strong Kimulot side, but the players executed our game plan well and remained focused until the final whistle,” said coach Boniface Ombima.
The double triumph in football and basketball has elevated Tenwek High School’s status as one of the top sporting institutions in Bomet County.
School administrators, students and supporters have hailed the achievements as a testament to discipline, teamwork, and determination.
The teams are now expected to shift focus to the upcoming Rift-Valley regional championships in Narok county as they seek further success on the larger stage.
