Police in Yatta sub county of Machakos county are holding a 15-year-old boy accused of dismembering a school boy aged five.
The accused committed the heinous act on the night of Monday, 29th August in Ikombe market where the boy lived with his parents.
He used a knife to cut the genitals of the school boy while the parents were away at work.
Concerned neighbors who heard the commotion rescued the boy and rushed him to Matuu Level Four Hospital then later transferred him to Kenyatta National Hospital where he is being treated.
Jane Makau, Yatta sub county police commander confirmed the incident stating that the suspect was arrested and is currently being held at Matuu Police Station awaiting arraignment in court and sentencing.
She revealed that the motive of the crime was known but the suspect was mentally unstable.
