Grief and outrage have gripped the education fraternity in Mwea East Sub-county, Kirinyaga County following the tragic murder of Betty Wanjiru Nyaga, a teacher at Ithiga Ria Njuki Junior Secondary School.
Nyaga was reportedly killed in a brutal incident that has sent shockwaves across the local community.
Details surrounding the circumstances of her death remain under investigation as security agencies intensify efforts to establish what transpired.
Education stakeholders in Kirinyaga strongly condemned the killing, describing it as a senseless and cruel act of violence against women.
“We strongly condemn this inhumane act of violence. No woman, and especially no teacher dedicated to serving learners, deserves such a fate,” leaders said in a statement.

They have called on the security apparatus to move with speed and ensure the perpetrator is arrested and prosecuted without delay.
