Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in Eastleigh North, Nairobi, alongside a separate suspected murder case in Kirinyaga County following the death of a man who had been receiving treatment for injuries sustained in an alleged assault.

The teenager, identified as Ridwan Ali Abdisalam, died after he was stabbed in the chest during a confrontation along 7th Street, 3rd Avenue, on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

According to police reports, the teenager had visited his mother’s residence and was climbing the staircase to the second floor when he encountered the suspect.

An argument reportedly broke out between the two as they moved towards the ground floor. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly stabbed the teenager in the upper right side of his chest before fleeing the scene.

His mother rushed him to a nearby dispensary, where he received initial medical attention before being referred to hospital. However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police officers visited the scene and launched preliminary investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The teenager’s body was later transferred to the 6th Street Mosque mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted.

Investigators are yet to establish the motive behind the killing as efforts to trace the suspect continue.

Man dies after alleged assault in Kirinyaga

In a separate incident, police in Kirinyaga East are investigating the death of a 51-year-old man following an alleged assault at Karumandi Market.

The deceased, identified as Francis Muriithi, died on Friday, October 16, 2026, while receiving treatment at Kerugoya Referral Hospital.

Police reports indicate that Muriithi was allegedly assaulted by a man at the market on October 10. The suspect reportedly pushed him, causing him to fall to the ground.

He was initially taken to Karumandi Dispensary for treatment but was later referred to Kerugoya Referral Hospital after his condition deteriorated.

Muriithi remained under medical care until his death, prompting authorities to review the case, which had initially been reported as an assault.

Officers from Karumandi Police Station, alongside detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kianyaga, visited the hospital following the report of his death and confirmed the incident.

The case is now being treated as a suspected murder as investigators seek to determine the circumstances that led to Muriithi’s death and establish possible criminal responsibility.

Police investigations into both incidents are ongoing, with further action expected once the circumstances surrounding the deaths have been established.
