Suba North MP condemns brutal murder of JSS student in Homa Bay

Suba North Member of Parliament, MP Millie Odhiambo has condemned the recent brutal murder of a Junior Secondary school student in Homa Bay, promising to push for the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.

MP Millie Odhiambo, while revealing the harrowing details, vowed to push the matter to its conclusion. Odhiambo, a vocal defender of women and girls’ rights, disclosed that the victim, identified as Mary Teresa, had been defiled before her attackers’ poured acid on her face.

She further noted that the 13-year old girl was the only daughter in her family, leaving her mother completely shattered by the incident.

“I became even more upset after speaking to the distraught mother. She was her only girl. The matter has already been reported to the police, and I have escalated it to FIDA and CRADLE for further action. I will personally follow up. I am very upset. I urge anyone with information to come forward, either to my office or to the police,” Odhiambo said.

It is also reported that Mary was first reported missing after leaving school for lunch at home, unfortunately the Kamsama JSS pupil never made it back, and her badly disfigured body was later discovered.

The gruesome killing has sparked outrage across the country, with Kenyans demanding swift justice for the young girl.
