Irate students at Dedan Kimathi University have confirmed that their comrade who disappeared mysteriously, died on Saturday evening in un-clear circumstance.
“Gabriel Kiprotich Chepkwony had gone to Nyeri town on Friday to activate a bank account he opened the previous day when he went missing. I tried to contact him on Saturday morning but his phone was off,” said his roommate.
The comrades then began a day long search for him, but all was in vain. The search continued to Sunday.
“We went to Kabiruini police station and with no avail, continued to other police stations for help but later confirmed he had died on Saturday evening. We were informed that he had been stabbed on the thighs and his clothes were soaked in blood after bleeding excessively. His phone was stolen but the bank information, his phone cover and Sh500 was recovered,” said one of his colleagues.
The students promised not to rest until they establish the culprits and the motive behind his killing.
