St. Mary’s School, Yala, has booked their spot in the County Championship after a commanding 2-0 victory over Uranga Secondary School in yesterday’s Gem Yala Sub-County finals. The win marks another strong campaign for the school’s football team, which has now made it to the county finals for three consecutive years.
Under the patronage of Chief Principal Victor Makanda, St. Mary’s has built a reputation for excellence both on and off the pitch. Although the team fell short in 2023 and 2024—losing to eventual champions Usenge and Ambira—they return this year with renewed determination and home advantage.
