A sombre mood has engulfed Moi Girls’ Sindo High School in Suba South Constituency, Homa Bay County, following the sudden death of Chief Principal Florence Omundi.
According to sources, Mrs. Omumdi passed away on Friday while undergoing treatment at a local hospital. News of her demise spread quickly through the school community, leaving teachers and students devastated. One teacher, overcome with emotion, could not finish his remarks as tears flowed while confirming the loss.
When the press visited the institution on Saturday, students were seen gathered in small groups under trees, while others sang Christian hymns in the school’s main hall as they tried to come to terms with the tragedy. Access to staff and learners was restricted, with the school gatekeeper insisting on formal procedures for visitors.
