Bomachoge Borabu MP Obadiah Barongo has disbursed Ksh16M from the constituency NG-CDF kitty to Mokubo Primary School for the construction of an 8-storey modern classroom.

Speaking during the launch of the classrooms’ construction, Barongo said that the initiative will open more opportunities to ensure equitable provision of education.

“This milestone demonstrates my unwavering commitment to the improvement of education in our community,” he said.

Barongo reiterated that he will collaborate with the county government to drill boreholes in select schools to enable learners to access clean water.

He singled out Kenyenya, Eberege, and Itongo Primary Schools as some of the schools that need water urgently.

The MP also took the opportunity to lead the school to plant more than 200 trees in the compound.

He appealed to all heads of schools in the constituency to embrace tree planting in efforts to fight climate change.

Barongo also called on the Kisii County Government to open the Kenyenya Public Library to encourage reading culture among the youth.
