Kisii County KSSSA football champions Sameta Boys have been dethroned after losing to St. John’s Nyamagwa in the Sameta Sub-County playoffs.

In the hotly contested match, Sameta lost narrowly to Nyamagwa 0-1, enabling the teams to proceed to the County soccer competitions.

According to Kisii County KSSA Organising Secretary Geoffrey Nyantika Nyachogochogo, AIC Secondary School in Nyamache Sub-county will host this year’s Kisii County Term Two matches championship.

Speaking at the venue on Tuesday, Nyantika assured the participating teams that adequate plans have been made to host the school.

“I want to assure team managers and their teams that everything has been put in place, let them come and play,” he said.

The secretary said that all matches will be played at the school because it has enough playing grounds.

He said the only games to be played outside are Rugby 7s for both boys and Girls at Nyamache Boys School.

Soccer teams in Pool A are: Nyamagwa Boys, Ndonyo, and Kitutu Central. Pool B will feature teams from Nyabisase Kisii South and Gucha.

Pool C will host Metembe SDA Nyanchwa and Nyakoora.

Nduru boys, Kenya, and Sameta will feature in Pool D, while Girls from IrandqaNyabomge and Mobamba will parade in Pool A to face each other in a soccer duel.

Other girls’ soccer teams, including Omwari Amaiko and Nyasore, will be in Pool B. Meanwhile, Gianchere, Kenyenya Nyabisase, Ayora, Engera Parish, and Metembe will be in Pools C and D, respectively.

Nyandika asked the school teams that had not already arrived at the respective venues to report early to avoid disturbances from the unpredictable afternoon downpours.
