Two (male learners aged 13 and 15 years old) pupils in Grade three at Nyatuoni primary school were drowned in river Riosota which flows out of Riamusa water falls in Etago sub- County on Thursday March 11, 2021 while on a competency based curriculum (CBC) trip.
According to Etago OCPD Joel Chesire, the two drowned after slipping into the river while touring Riamusa waterfalls where they had gone for the CBC case study.
He said the bodies of the two teenagers were taken to Kisii county teaching and referral hospital morgue as investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident remained underway
