The Public Service Commission (PSC), through the State Department for Basic Education, has announced 1,000 internship opportunities under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort Five.
The internship programme targets recent graduates in ICT and education, with successful candidates set to be deployed to schools at the sub-county level.
Applicants must have graduated in 2022 or later and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education specialising in ICT, a Bachelor’s degree in ICT, a Diploma in ICT or a Diploma in ICT Integration in Education from a recognised institution.
Successful interns will serve for 12 months on a non-renewable basis, supporting schools in e-learning, digital literacy, ICT integration and other technology-related services.
They will also train primary school teachers on the use of digital literacy devices, assist teachers to integrate ICT into teaching, learning and assessment, and provide first-line support and maintenance of ICT services in schools.
Applicants to support digital learning
The programme is expected to strengthen schools’ capacity to effectively use digital learning resources while providing young professionals with practical experience in education and ICT.
Applicants are also expected to have knowledge of areas such as networking and infrastructure, application development, information security and project management.
Candidates must be willing to work full-time at any sub-county education office and should not have previously benefited from a similar internship programme.
The PSC said eligible candidates should submit their applications online through its official recruitment platforms.
Applications can be made through the Public Service Commission website or the PSC jobs portal, with the deadline set for October 5, 2026.
The internship will run for 12 months and will not be renewable.
Successful interns will receive a stipend at a rate determined by the government and will be awarded certificates by the State Department for Basic Education upon successful completion of the programme.
The internship opportunities come as the government continues expanding the use of technology in teaching and learning, with digital skills increasingly becoming an important component of education.
The selected interns will be expected to work closely with schools and education officials to support the effective integration of ICT into learning and school operations.
Applicants have been urged to carefully review the requirements and provide accurate information when submitting their applications.
