The police in Kisii are looking for a 72-year-old man who allegedly defiled a grade pupil.
According to the residents of Nyatieko village, the girl was sent to the neighbour’s home to correct a vegetable knife when misfortune befell her.
She found the older man outside his house and asked her to enter the house, then closed it and accomplished his mission, then released his victim to leave in the evening darkness.
He threatened to kill her at any time if she revealed the atrocity that was done to her to anybody.
When morning arrived, the girl’s grandmother noticed that the girl was having difficulty walking and asked her what had happened. The girl then revealed everything.
They took the girl to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment and further guidance and counselling, as they reported the matter to Omoraa police station in Kisii Central Subcounty.

The suspect sensed danger and ran away, but the police vowed not to rest until the man was arrested to face the law in court.
Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Chief Officer (CEO) Marita Oimeke confirmed the medical report of defilement but assured the family that the minor was responding well to drugs.
“We will recover from the physical harm, but she will require gradual counselling therapy to cushion her from trauma,” he said.
Kisii County Governance Watch Secretary Rachael Otundo condemned the act and asked the police to hasten the search and bring the suspect to book.
She blamed parents and local chiefs for exonerating child abuse-related matters, which they settled under Kangaroo courts at the expense of the child.
She asked them to be at the frontline in upholding the rights of children because they are the custodians of the law.
