Police have seized 578 kilograms of marijuana, apprehended five suspects, and impounded three vehicles in Moticho Ward, South Mugirango, Kisii County.
County Police Commander Charles Kases concerned about the potential involvement of some police officers in drug trafficking, emphasized their commitment to eradicating the menace, vowing that no one would be spared.
“One of the apprehended vehicles, towing others due to mechanical issues, indicated a possible drug transportation operation,” Kases stated.
Highlighting the detrimental impact of drug abuse on families and school children, Kases, accompanied by Kisii Central Sub County Police Commander Isaac Kimwele, urged the public to actively share information to aid in capturing drug traffickers.
The suspects are currently held at Nyamarambe police station and would face legal consequences once the investigation concludes.
