Students from Nyaribari Masaba Constituency studying at various colleges and universities have benefited from the latest disbursement of the constituency’s NG-CDF Education Bursary Fund.
Speaking at the constituency office, the Fund Manager Mr Mark Siko said that the Constituency Committee issued a total of 12 million shillings to the learners.
Mr Mark asked the beneficiaries to work hard in their respective institutions now that the school fees burden had been lifted from their shoulders.
“Majority of you come from needy homes and that is why the government is assisting to sponsor your education,” he informed the students.
James Omosa, one of the parents whose children benefited from the funds, praised the outgoing MP, Mr Ezekiel Machogu for ensuring the committee awarded the funds fairly.
Esther Gesuka, a third year student from Kisii University said the money will help her reduce the huge balance she owes the school before she completes her course.
“This is a huge relief, although it will not offset the whole balance, my struggling single mother will breathe,” she commented.
Mr Ezekiel Machogu received the presidential state commendation for prudent management of affairs in his constituency.
