Mwea Technical and Vocational College (TVC) has won two awards at the 2026 Pacesetters International Awards, earning recognition for its contribution to agricultural engineering and dual training.
The college was named Pacesetter in Agricultural Engineering and Dual Training, while its Chief Principal, Tabitha Jesse, received the Best Principal Innovator and Pacesetter in Training award.
The awards, organised by Jubilant Stewards of Africa under the Industry Leadership Awards category, were presented at Weston Hotel in Nairobi on October 30, 2026.

Ms Jesse attributed the achievement to the institution's investment in modern equipment and partnerships that give trainees practical industry experience.

Established in 2019, the college offers modular training, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and dual training, enabling learners to combine classroom instruction with workplace experience.
Its industry partners include Agitech Seedlings, Mazao na Afya Group, the National Irrigation Authority, GK Mwea Prison, Shaktiman and Redstone Machinery.

Board Chairperson George Njiru said the institution was focused on producing graduates with practical skills that meet labour market demands.

Located in Mwea East, Kirinyaga County, the college continues to strengthen agricultural training through mechanised farming and industry collaboration, preparing graduates for opportunities in the agricultural sector.
