The body of Joseph Odero Bungu, a head teacher at Ngoswani Osupuko Primary School in Narok county, has been found hanging on a tree near the school.
Bungu went missing on June 7 under unclear circumstances.
It is believed he might have killed himself since he had been transferred to another school, something that could have pushed him to the brink.
A family member said they launched a search for the deceased after he failed to respond to phone calls from family members and colleagues. He went on to disclose that the deceased had not shown any signs of distress.
Narok South police boss Isaac Omare confirmed the incident and stated that the police have launched an investigation to establish the cause of the death.
“It is not clear if the deceased died by suicide,” he explained, further revealing that the matter is under investigation by Narok South sub county detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Narok County Referral Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
