St. Anne’s Girls’ Primary School in Mumias, received a major boost, after being recognized by Equity Bank for their outstanding performances in the Term One Drama and Film Festivals.
The school received Ksh50, 000 and a trophy from Equity Bank in recognition of their achievements
With a longstanding reputation for excellence in both academics and co-curricular activities, the school was pleasantly surprised by a visit from officials of Equity Bank, led by Mumias Branch Manager Alfred Mutimbo, alongside Evans Anyona and Shariff Lukalia.
While addressing the students and teachers, Mutimbo congratulated the school for its consistent excellence across various disciplines, praising them for maintaining a leading position in the region.

“As Equity Bank, we are proud to be associated with St. Anne’s and we look forward to a strong partnership going forward,” said Mutimbo.
He reminded the students of the power of education. “Education is the greatest equalizer. Work hard to become better individuals in the future,” he said.
Mutimbo also encouraged the students to excel in their studies, noting that Equity Bank offers programs to support top-performing learners.
“We have tailored programs for students who pass their exams. If you shine, Equity Bank will take care of the rest—just like we are already doing for many students who performed well in their KCPE.” He said
In a bid to inspire the learners, he introduced Shariff Lukalia, who scored an impressive A grade in all subjects and is set to join university soon. Despite his academic success, Shariff currently works with Equity Bank as he continues to build his personal and professional development.

“I brought Shariff so he could challenge and motivate you,” added Mutimbo.
Sr. Cyrillah Sanya, the school head, expressed her gratitude to Equity Bank for the recognition and promised to raise the bar even higher in the coming year.
“We are a drama school and we will do everything humanly possible to shine again next year. We have always stood out, and nothing will stop us from achieving quality results,” she said.
Parents Association (PA) Chairperson Peter Guya also challenged the students to work hard, reminding them of the school’s proud history of producing outstanding women.
“There are many great women in this country who passed through St. Anne’s. Your journey to greatness starts here. Work hard for a bright future,” said Guya.
