Lugari Member of Parliament (MP) Nabii Nabwera has reiterated his commitment to improving academic performance in the constituency following the completion of a three-day intensive training camp for top students.

The camp, held at Archbishop Njenga Girls High School, brought together 50 high-achieving learners as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen examination outcomes and sustain recent gains in national performance.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, Nabwera said the constituency’s improving results are the outcome of deliberate planning and focused investment in education.

“To achieve the best results, we must pursue them with deliberate effort and clear intention,” he said.

The legislator pointed to a recent rise in the number of candidates attaining grade A in national examinations, describing it as a major milestone for a constituency that had previously struggled to produce top grades.

He said the progress reflects growing collaboration among education stakeholders, including teachers, parents and local leadership.

The just-concluded camp is expected to lay the groundwork for the rollout of the “Creaming One 2026” programme, an initiative aimed at identifying and mentoring academically gifted students at an early stage.

Education officials present at the event said such targeted interventions are key to sustaining performance and building a competitive academic culture within the constituency.

The MP expressed optimism that continued support and structured mentorship programmes will further improve results and position Lugari among top-performing regions nationally.
