Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Collins Oyuu on Monday escaped death narrowly after his vehicle rolled several times following an accident at Yago near Kombewa, Kisumu County.
He was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu where it was established that he sustained minor injuries and is in stable condition.

Speaking to Education News while in his hospital bed, Oyuu confirmed that he is alright and that he escaped unhurt.
According to his driver, the incident occurred while they were heading to the Kisumu International Airport to book a flight back to Nairobi when they tried to avoid a motorcycle that had veered into the road before he lost control.
Oyuu was in his rural home over the weekend in Rarieda.
Several KNUT officials from Kisumu rushed to the scene before visiting him in hospital.
