The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has joined the academic community in mourning the death of Prof. Donald Namasaka Siamba, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Administration, Finance, and Development at Kibabii University.
KNUT National Second Vice Chairperson Aggrey Namisi described the late professor as a committed educationist whose dedication to the sector would be remembered for years to come.
“Prof. Siamba’s unwavering support for education touched the lives of many students, teachers, and professionals. His loss is deeply felt across the education fraternity,” Namisi said.

Prof. Siamba, who served at Kibabii University until his passing, was credited with strengthening governance, advancing development projects, and promoting financial management reforms at the institution.
Tributes from colleagues, students, and education stakeholders continue to pour in, with many describing him as a selfless leader and mentor whose contributions to Kenya’s education sector were invaluable.
Namisi concluded by praying for comfort for the bereaved family and the Kibabii University community, saying, “May Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.”
