KNUT calls for discipline, parental support as Kitale School holds orientation

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) National Second Vice Chairperson Aggrey Namisi has urged Grade 10 students to uphold discipline and remain focused on their academic goals as they begin senior secondary education.

Namisi spoke during the Grade 10 Orientation Day at Kitale School, where he joined the school community in welcoming the new learners.

Addressing the students and parents, he described the transition to Grade 10 as a critical phase in their academic journey and challenged them to demonstrate commitment and consistency in their studies.

“Education remains the strongest foundation for a brighter future. With discipline and hard work, learners can achieve their aspirations,” he said.

The KNUT official emphasized that discipline is central to both academic performance and character formation, noting that responsible conduct within and outside the classroom contributes to overall success.

He also called on parents and guardians to ensure timely payment of school fees to prevent disruptions in learning. According to Namisi, uninterrupted attendance enables learners to concentrate fully on their studies thus enhancing academic outcomes.

The Unionist commended the school’s administration for its leadership, singling out Senior Principal Dyphina Nafula Pembere for maintaining high standards of management and performance.

The induction ceremony outlined academic expectations and school values for the Grade 10 cohort, marking the beginning of a new academic phase.

He reaffirmed KNUT’s commitment to supporting quality education and urged for continued collaboration among teachers, parents and education stakeholders to foster disciplined and successful learners.
