KJSEA 2026: KNEC releases examination timetable

KNEC has released the official timetable for the 2026 KJSEA, with written assessments set to begin on Monday, October 26, 2026.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released the official timetable for the 2026 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), paving the way for thousands of Grade 9 learners across the country to begin structured preparations for the national examination.

The publication of the timetable provides candidates, parents, teachers, and schools with a clear schedule to guide revision, examination planning, and other preparatory activities ahead of the assessment period.

According to the timetable, the written KJSEA assessments will commence on Monday, October 26, 2026, marking a key milestone for learners completing the Junior School cycle under Kenya’s Competency-Based Education (CBE) system.

With the examination dates now confirmed, schools are expected to intensify academic preparation efforts while ensuring learners fully understand the structure, requirements, and sequence of the assessments.

Teachers are expected to play a central role in guiding candidates through structured revision programmes, identifying areas that require additional support, and ensuring learners are adequately prepared across all assessment components.
