Kisii School has emerged victorious in the rescheduled Kisii county secondary schools Term One boys’ basketball final, defeating their long-time rivals Nyanchwa Boys with a score of 102-89. The match, which was initially halted due to crowd trouble, was transferred to Moi Gesusu High School, as a more neutral ground.

Kisii School dominated early, building a 58-36 lead at halftime.

Despite Nyanchwa’s strong comeback in the second half, Kisii School’s smart conversions from 28 fouls committed by their opponents secured their win. Coach Gilbert Okumu praised his team’s performance, saying, “We were the better team this time round. It was a heated final, and I’m proud of the boys”.

Nyanchwa Coach Kepha Ongeri conceded the defeat, admitting Kisii School played a fair game at the neutral Moi Gesusu ground. “They were the better team, and we congratulate them on their win. We’ll support them during the upcoming regional competitions at Kisumu Boys School in Kisumu County,” Ongeri said.
