Kenya dominates FEASSSA hockey finals as four teams battle for regional glory

Kenya will take centre stage at the 2026 Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games in Morogoro, Tanzania, with the country guaranteed a double victory in hockey as four Kenyan schools face off in the girls’ and boys’ finals.

The highly anticipated finals on Friday will see Kenyan schools battle for regional supremacy, underlining the country’s dominance in secondary school hockey across East Africa.

In the girls’ final, St. Joseph’s Girls will face Ng’iya Girls in an all-Kenyan showdown. Both sides have navigated a competitive tournament to earn their place in the championship decider and will now fight for the coveted FEASSA title.

The boys’ final will also be an all-Kenyan affair, pitting Friends School Kamusinga against St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale.

The clash brings together two of Kenya’s established school hockey sides, setting the stage for a fiercely contested final as they seek to crown their campaign with regional honours.

The double appearance in the finals is a major boost for Kenyan school hockey, with the country assured of taking home both the girls’ and boys’ titles.

FEASSSA games break at Morogoro as players mark Cultural Day

The FEASSA Games have brought together top secondary school sporting talent from across East Africa, providing a platform for young athletes to compete at regional level while showcasing the strength and depth of school sports in the region.

Attention will now turn to Morogoro on Friday as the four Kenyan finalists battle for gold and the honour of being crowned East Africa’s best in their respective categories.

The hockey finals offer a perfect opportunity to underline its growing influence in regional school sports and cap the 2026 FEASSA campaign on a high.
