Kaimosi Poly is hosting a five day physical training of VTCs officers from Vihiga County which started yesterday June 29, 2026 and will run until Friday July 03, 2026.

The training brings together managers and instructors from Vihiga VTCs where they will be taken through in-person learning by experts from both KFNP and TVETA, with the training being structured to equip officers and trainers with practical skills for CBET implementation, learning delivery, assessment, validation and evidence management.
The Kaimosi Friends National Polytechnic (KFNP) is hosting a five day physical training of Vocational Training Centre (VTCs) officers from Vihiga County which started yesterday June 29, 2026 and will run until Friday July 03, 2026.
The five-day physical training, officially opened yesterday by the County Deputy Governor, Dr. Wilberforce Kitiezo, will focus on the Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) programme, and is being undertaken in collaboration with KFNP and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).

The training brings together managers and instructors from Vihiga VTCs where they will be taken through in-person learning by experts from both KFNP and TVETA, with the training being structured to equip officers and trainers with practical skills for CBET implementation, learning delivery, assessment, validation and evidence management.
The physical training comes a few days after Kaimosi Friends National Polytechnic conducted a virtual session on June 23, 2026.

Speaking during the launch, the Deputy Governor reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to improving the quality of vocational education and training through continuous capacity building for vocational education officers and trainers, reaffirming the County Government will ensure effective implementation of CBET curriculum in all VTCs.
The County Executive Committee Member for Education Anne Desma emphasized the importance of equipping trainers with modern skills to effectively implement CBET programme, with Chief Officer Dominic Luvavo urging all trainers to attend every session to qualify for certification, noting that the County Government remains committed to supporting the professional growth of trainers and that more capacity building programs have been planned.
The programme follows a recent capacity building for officers, managers, board chairpersons and members at Chanzeywe Technical and Vocational College.
The training programme will be closed officially on Friday July 03, 2026 by the County Governor Dr. Wilberforce Ottichilo and Kaimosi Friends National Polytechnic Chief Principal Dr. Okumu JW Odhiambo.
