- Obiri commissioned a new one-storey classroom block at Nyamaruma Primary School, saying it will ease congestion and improve academic standards.
- Obiri has linked adequate classroom space to effective implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum, pledging continued investment in school infrastructure.
Bobasi Member of Parliament Innocent Obiri has lauded his NG-CDF Committee members for the prudent distribution and proper monitoring of funds used for school projects.
Speaking during the commissioning of Nyamaruma Primary School in Masige East, the MP said, “Money which is used well shows itself in the value it brings to people.” He reiterated his commitment to serving all people from his constituency equally by giving priority to education, which he said is the backbone of any development, noting that the new face of Nyamaruma Primary School had taken a significant amount of funds to complete.

The MP said the new one-storey classroom block will ease congestion and improve academic standards. He detailed the importance of adequate learning space, stating that it is critical for quality education, noting that spacious classrooms improve concentration, as learners in uncongested rooms are less distracted by heat and noise, enabling them to hear the teacher clearly and participate actively.
He added that adequate space also enhances health and hygiene, since overcrowding facilitates the spread of airborne diseases, while adequate ventilation and spacing reduce illness and absenteeism.
Furthermore, Obiri said enough space allows for effective teacher-learner interaction, enabling teachers to move around the classroom, attend to slow learners individually and effectively use teaching aids. He said it also promotes discipline, comfort and dignity, as learners are not squeezed onto desks, which reduces fatigue and improves their ability to write and learn. He noted that spacious classrooms are also essential for the successful implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum, which requires learners to work in groups, conduct practical activities and display their work.
He pledged to continue investing in school infrastructure across Bobasi Constituency.
