Kabuchai Member of Parliament Hon Majimbo Kalasinga has disbursed bursaries worth Kshs 18 Million to a total of Five Thousand Students who have joined Form one this year.
Speaking at the National Government –Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF)offices located at Musese area ,Hon Majimbo pointed out that all the students who have been enrolled on the bursary programme will benefit from a yearly allocation of school fees through the kitty until they finish their secondary education.
He urged all the school principals in his constituency not to send any student home due to delayed fees payment citing that this will interfere with the learning schedules of the students and cause a drop in their performance during exams .
Majimbo also called upon the students to embrace a high sense of discipline at school so as to secure a bright future for the country .
The MP said that his office will not condone any student of indulging in torching of schools because it costs parents a lot of money in rebuilding institutions .
Area Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association ( KESSHA ) Chairperson who doubles up as The Principal of Marobo Girls Secondary School, Mrs Jane Mabonga urged parents to take full responsibility for day school students by buying them basic necessities used in school like pens and sanitary towels for girls .
Mrs Mabonga stressed on the need for students to ensure they adhere to all Covid -19 safety measures and guidelines set by the Ministry of Health in order to be safe from contracting the virus.
