Kaaga Girls High School in Meru County posted impressive results in Kenya Certificate Secondary Education (KSCE) 2020 examination topping the most improved schools.
According to Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, the schools admitted candidates with lower KCPE mean scores but did a commendable job at improving their overall mean performance to inspiring levels.

The schools include extra county, county and sub-county schools in the country.
Kaaga Girls High School improved the KCPE index from 22.38% to 73.98% this year, St Joseph Girls Kitale came in second and improved from 21.22 to 71.57%.
Kisasi Secondary School improved from 20.48 to 68.2%, Oriwo Boys which is also an extra county school improved from 31.07 to 78.92%
The other schools that Educations CS George Magoha noted improved from last year’s results include; Riokindo High School, St. Joseph Rapogi, Light Academy (Private), Moi Gesusu High, Saye Mixed Secondary School, St. Edward Nyabioto, Wiobiero Secondary, Chuka Boys High School, Strathmore School, Bushra High School and Mahiga Girls.
“After looking at the impressive results that have been posted by our KCSE 2020 candidates, and taking into account the most trying environment in which they prepared for this examination, I am compelled to describe their show in one apt sentence: They fought their battle with resilience and ended it with grace,” stated CS Magoha.
During the 2020 KCSE Examination, 747,161 candidates sat the examination compared to 697,222 candidates in 2019.
This represented an increase of 49,939 candidates (6.68%). Of the 747,161 candidates who sat the 2020 KCSE examination, 380,327 were male while 366,834 were female, representing 50.90% and 49.10% of the total candidature respectively.
