JKUAT law scholar tapped by Robert Gordon University

Dr Judith Oloo has been appointed a lecturer for a period of three years at the School of Law of the Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Scotland.

Dr Oloo is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Public Law Department at the JKUAT School of Law.

Rated the Scottish University of the Year 2021, the RGU is a top university with an international reputation for high quality legal education and research.

“I am definitely excited about this opportunity, which makes me a proud member of the JKUAT community of professionals, to whom I am indebted for their invaluable collegiality, and without whom I would not have achieved this milestone. I pride myself in service to the university, believing that I am a product of molding by the best of professionals, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victoria Ngumi,” says Oloo.

The Law scholar plans to leverage the opportunity to explore areas of partnership between Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and the Robert Gordon University on matters legal education.

“I look forward to initiating and fostering a great and mutually beneficial relationship between the two institutions, leading to partnership and collaboration in legal research, student exchange, sharing of learning resources among others. This engagement will also broaden my horizons, enable me to learn from other scholars, and gain exposure to different approaches to teaching and research,” She asserts.

Dr Oloo is passionate about human rights, and has served as the Chief Executive Officer at the East African Centre for Human Rights.

She was also appointed to represent academia at the National Crime and Research Centre as a member of the Governing Council. In 2021, she was named among the top 100 French African Young Leaders Laureates in Paris and Dakar.
