Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) in partnership with the National Council for Persons With Disabilities (NCPWD) has invited first time applications for the 2022-2023 National Council for Persons with Disabilities Education Grant Scheme.
In an announcement through HELB’s official social media pages, HELB noted that the scheme is open for all Persons with Disabilities but they must be registered with the National Council for Persons With Disabilities under the new registration system or migrated into the new registration system.
“Eligible students should have been enrolled for courses in accredited public or private universities (undergraduate), TVET institutions, approved Medical Training Institutions and other approved and accredited institutions of higher learning in Kenya,” the announcement added.
Applicants will be required to submit their PWD certificate number during the application process through HELB’s student portal.
Regardless of the amount provided, HELB has promised to offer the highest possible bursaries and loans to disabled students.
The closing date for the Grant application is May 17, 2023.
At later dates, applicants will receive notifications on receipt and verification of application, award and disbursements of the funds.
For more information, eligible students should contact helbscheme@ncpwd.go.ke or contactcentre@helb.co.ke
