Education stakeholders in the Coast have been urged to put elaborate plans in place so as to improve both the academic standards and performance in national exams.

Speaking in Malanga Sub-location in Sokoke Ward during the burial ceremony of International Fellowship for Christ Committee chairman the late Samson Kidani Mele,  Coast Parliamentary Group secretary and Ganze MP Mr. Teddy Mwambire decried the dismal performance in 2020 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education ( KCPE ) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education ( KCSE ) exams in the region.

He said that urgent steps should be taken by education stakeholders in the region to address the situation.

“The situation has caused great concern in the area,” he added.

He asked parents and other education stakeholders in the region to support education programmes so that they are successful.

He further asked parents from the constituency to apply for bursaries for their children to address their monetary challenges.
