West Pokot to partner with TSC to improve academic standards in the region

The County Government of West Pokot has initiated a collaborative approach with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to improve academic standards of learners in all the 20 Wards in the county and especially those recording decline in performance.

Speaking to other synergistic functions in Kapenguria yesterday , led by the acting County Director Joseph Musyoka, the county boss  Simon Kachapin said that in order for the county to succeed, the education sector had to be given the top-most attention.

He added that ensuring academic excellence for all learners is a fundamental goal for all counties and especially West Pokot,

He however observed that it was necessary to integrate practical strategies which would go a long way in improving and exposing learners’ talents and skills.

Musyoka, on his side said that he had initiated and improved teachers and learners advisory services.

He said that there was continuous capacity building to hone teachers’ skills and confidence while handling learners at different levels and promised his unwavering support to ensure that the county’s education dream is achieved within a short time.

He added that significant initiatives had been put in place to ensure that there was quality, equity, access and relevance of education at all learning levels.
