Kakamega County government has pledged to clear school fees for the children of the slain ardent football fan Isaac Juma.
The AFC and Harambee stars number one fan was murdered in cold blood last week.
Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya noted that the county government will clear school fees for Juma’s three children who are in secondary school, besides settling all the funeral expenses for the family.
“We will support the family of Juma to settle funeral expenses and also clear fees for his children, “He said.
He said this when he met the late Juma’s family members led by one of his wives Faridah Juma in his office on Wednesday.
The family briefed him of the burial arrangements and the budgets involved in Juma’s final journey tentatively slated for February 12th at Ebuyenjere village in Mumias West constituency.
The ardent Harambee stars and AFC Leopard fan was murdered by unknown assailants who invaded his home at around 9pm and slashed him to death over what has come out to be a land dispute.
The County chief, regretting the death of Juma, called on the police to initiate speedy investigations into the incident in order to bring the culprits to book.
The Police are so far holding one suspect in connection with the incident.
“I have known Juma for a long time since I was an official of AFC leopards. He could travel far places to cheer for his teams. Hence he deserves a decent heroic send-off,” said Oparanya.
The governor also hinted that former Premier Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga and Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui might attend the burial ceremony.
Thanking governor oparanya, the late Juma’s two widows also appealed to the government to provide security for the family revealing that they were still under a big threat over the piece of land they own.
