Busia to have at least one team in the volleyball final today

Busia will parade a team for today volleyball boys finals at the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games, with either Butula or Katakwa carrying the county’s flag.

Butula and Katakwa have been pitted together in a bruising semi-final with the winner to meet either Namwela or Malava will meet in the other semis today.

Katakwa ensured a semi-final slot after beating Vihiga 3-2 (25-21, 18-25, 25-10, 25-27, 15-10).

Butula upset former national and East African champions Malava Boys 3-2 and Wabukhonyi 3-0.

Lugulu Girls will battle with Butere in the first semis with Miruri taking on Mwitoti in the second semis.

Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo has lauded the two schools for raising the county’s flag by ensuring one team plays in tomorrow’s finals.

“This is a confirmation that Busia is endowed with talents which will open many avenues,” she said, pledging to support teams with such high riding performance in future.
