The basic education sector in Yatta sub-county received a boost following the opening of two Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centres at Kanaani Primary School.

The classrooms, built by Usaidizi Foundation, were commissioned by Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti who was accompanied by her Deputy, Francis Mwangangi.

Speaking at the school, Governor Ndeti thanked the Foundation led by Antony Achola for their generosity and welcomed more well-wishers to partner with the county government in improving the educational infrastructure in the county.

“My government is very grateful to Usaidizi Foundation for their generosity and welcome other development partners to support education in our county,” she said.

She reiterated her commitment to making quality education accessible to all.

The Governor disclosed that her administration will disburse Ksh20 million for bursaries on Friday in Matungulu sub-county, saying that it is the largest bursary allocation in the history of the county.

The amount is a raise from the initial Ksh80 million disbursed in the last financial year.
