Long serving Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Wareng Branch Executive Secretary John Boor has lost his seat.
He was defeated by his deputy Thomas Yego during KNUT elections last Saturday.
Speaking after being elected, Yego thanked teachers for believing in his leadership.
Over four hundred teachers participated in the elections.
“I am speechless. I did not know that teachers had this much love for me. I want to assure them that I will not let them down. I will ensure that their rights are not infringed whatsoever,” said Yego.
Yego said the elections were free and fair: “I will work for every teacher whether you voted for me or not,” he said.
Boor thanked teachers for believing in his leadership for the past ten years and wished his successor well.
