Kisii County Education Board has decried the way some of the government officials discharge their duties.

The board said their behaviour has led to the stalling of school projects that are funded by the NG-CDF funds.

Speaking to contractors at his Kisii office, the Board chairman Prof. Henry Onderi accused some officials who demanded bribes from school heads in order to sign important documents for the completion of development of projects in their schools.

“The reluctance from government officers to sign some important documents for approval unless they are paid some unjustified money, must stop immediately”, he said.

The chairman threatened to name the officials known to solicit funds from education institutions unless they get kickbacks.

He asked contractors to shun any government officer who demanded any kickback.  Onderi who is also the principal of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) Kisii Campus, assured that his office will not hastate to take legal measures to discipline errant government officers.
