- Kiambaa MP John Njuguna has launched construction of a 15-classroom block at Muthurwa Comprehensive School under the NG-CDF programme.
- The constituency has completed similar projects at Karura Comprehensive School and Kawaida Secondary School, including accessible facilities with ramps and modern finishes.
Construction of a 15-classroom block at Muthurwa Comprehensive School in Kiambaa Constituency is underway, in a project expected to ease pressure on existing learning facilities.
The new block is being put up through the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), as part of efforts to expand and modernise school infrastructure across the constituency. Kiambaa MP John Njuguna said the project would provide a better environment for both pupils and teachers, describing it as a major investment in the school.
The development is part of a wider infrastructure push in Kiambaa, where several public schools have recently benefited from new classrooms and renovations. Earlier, Njuguna had commissioned the construction of another 15 classrooms at Karura Comprehensive School, a project being implemented in two phases, with 10 classrooms in the first phase and five in the second.
“The works are part of our broader effort to create conducive learning environments and improve infrastructure across our public schools. Our children deserve schools they can be proud to learn in, and that is the standard we are working to achieve across Kiambaa,” Njuguna said.

The constituency has also witnessed the expansion of Kawaida Secondary School, where Njuguna recently commissioned a newly completed five-classroom block. The facility, which includes tiled floors, whiteboards, ramps and a staircase, was handed over after completion, with the entire storey also receiving a fresh coat of paint.
“For years, children from Kawaida had to walk long distances to access secondary education. That is why we started Kawaida Secondary School from the ground up to bring education closer to our children. Today, we have handed over five additional classrooms, fitted with tiles, whiteboards, ramps and a staircase, with the entire storey repainted,” Njuguna said.

The Kawaida project also incorporates ramps to make the facilities more accessible to students and staff with diverse needs.
With the Muthurwa project now progressing alongside similar developments in other schools, the NG-CDF-backed programme is adding more learning spaces as Kiambaa continues its push to upgrade public school infrastructure.
