Top-performing students at Ng’iya Girls High School have received a mentorship boost as they prepare for the final stretch of their high school journey and life beyond the classroom.
The school’s 2026 Valiants’ A Plain students attended a mentorship session at Alabama Country Lodge Hotel in Kisumu, where they interacted with Sacho High School Principal Patrick Mboya. The session brought together the school’s top-performing students for conversations on academic excellence, personal growth, confidence and preparing for opportunities beyond high school.
Mboya’s connection with the school goes beyond the mentorship session. During his time as Director of Studies at Maseno School, he played a key role in opening a partnership that enabled Ngiya Girls students to participate in the Elites examinations. The opportunity helped the school regain its footing on the national academic scene and contributed to renewed focus on academic excellence.

Now serving as Sacho High School Principal, Mboya continues to mentor and inspire students, sharing his experience as an educationist with the next generation.
The school said the Valiants need more than good grades as they approach the next chapter of their lives. “They need guidance, exposure, confidence and mentors who can help them see beyond the classroom,” the school noted.
The mentorship programme was designed to give top-performing students a platform to engage with accomplished educators and professionals as they make critical decisions about their future.
