New TSC directors take over in West Pokot as KUPPET applauds smooth transition

A smooth leadership transition was witnessed at Chewoyet National School during the official handing over and taking over ceremony for Teachers Service Commission (TSC) County Directors in West Pokot.

The event brought together education stakeholders, union officials, and administrators to oversee the transfer of leadership from outgoing West Pokot County TSC Director Dr. Esther Musani to the newly appointed County Director, Robert Ruto.

The ceremony marked a significant administrative transition within the county’s education sector, with stakeholders emphasizing the importance of continuity, professionalism, and efficient service delivery in schools.

Also recognized during the event was Paul Kamas, formerly the Deputy Director in West Pokot, who has been promoted and appointed as the new TSC County Director for Makueni County.

Officials from the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) West Pokot branch attended the ceremony, led by Branch Executive Secretary  Alfred Kamuto and Branch Chairperson Geoffrey Doywan.

The union leaders praised the orderly transition, describing it as a demonstration of institutional stability and maturity within the TSC.

They noted that seamless leadership changes are essential in ensuring uninterrupted operations in schools, especially at a time when the education sector is experiencing reforms and increasing administrative responsibilities.

KUPPET officials congratulated Dr. Musani for her service during her tenure in West Pokot and expressed confidence in Ruto’s ability to steer the county’s education administration effectively.

Kamas was also commended following his appointment to Makueni County, with stakeholders describing his promotion as recognition of his experience and contribution to educational management.

Education stakeholders at the event underscored the need for collaboration between TSC officials and teacher unions to improve service delivery and address emerging challenges in the sector.

The ceremony symbolized not only a formal administrative handover but also a renewed commitment to strengthening education standards and maintaining stability within the teaching fraternity.

As the new county leadership assumes office, stakeholders expressed optimism that ongoing education programmes and service delivery will continue seamlessly for the benefit of teachers and learners.
