Murang’a University of Technology student Constance Mwende Githinji was laid to rest at her family home in Kabaa, Machakos County, in an emotional burial ceremony attended by family, friends and members of the public yesterday.
The late Constance Mwende Githinji, a diploma student in Health Records and Information Technology at Murang’a University of Technology, was described as a bright and ambitious young woman whose life was cut short just as she was nearing completion of her studies.
Her burial follows a tragic incident in which she died after falling from a sixth-floor Airbnb in Kileleshwa on April 26, 2026.
A post-mortem later revealed that she had sustained multiple serious injuries prior to the fall, prompting police to reclassify the case from suicide to murder.
A suspect is currently in custody at Kilimani Police Station as investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death continue.

During the burial, mourners called for justice and remembered Constance as a hardworking student who balanced her academic life with her growing influence on social media.
Authorities have urged the public to remain patient as investigations proceed, promising that the truth will be established through due process.
