A 13-year-old school girl from Emesa Primary School in Michengo, Kisii County has mysteriously vanished from her home during the long December Holiday.
The girl’s mother Joyce Mauti revealed that her daughter vanished on October 25, 2023.
“My daughter might have eloped with another student or been lured into early marriage by an adult,” she lamented.
Mauti further implored anyone with information about her daughter’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station, as the family endures sleepless nights filled with worry.
The Chief of Michengo Ezekiel Onduso confirmed the incident and issued a stern warning to anyone found leading schoolgirls and boys astray, emphasizing that they would face legal consequences.
He also instructed clan elders to actively identify wandering children and report them for intervention, holding parents accountable for their children’s behavior.
